I’m David Joyce, an astronomy enthusiast, astrophotographer, and web developer based in Lexington, Kentucky. I share my work online as astro_davido, where I document both my visual observing and astrophotography experiences.

My fascination with space began early in life, with Carl Sagan serving as a major inspiration, and that curiosity eventually led me to explore the night sky through telescopes of all sizes.

I enjoy both visual astronomy and astrophotography because they offer two very different ways to connect with the universe. Whether I’m observing the Moon and planets through an eyepiece or capturing distant nebulae and galaxies with a camera, I’m constantly amazed by what can be revealed with the right equipment and a little patience.

Outside of astrophotography, I also enjoy chess and running. This site is a place to share the images, projects, and occasional writing that have grown out of that lifelong fascination with the night sky.
